Dear Valued Patient
It is hard to believe that Lafayette Family Wellness has been open for almost two years. We have been so blessed to have the opportunity to build and nurture many wonderful patient-provider relationships over this time. You have entrusted us to be your provider and we can think of no higher honor. We take our work seriously and providing you and your family with exceptional care has been and will always remain our highest priority.
Unfortunately, the current state of our healthcare system is making this increasingly difficult. Personalized care has become more and more challenging in a system that favors quantity over quality and computer check boxes over face-to-face interactions. “Patient centered” care has given way to payment centered care. Medical costs have also become severely inflated as third parties have forced themselves into our exam rooms. Insurance companies dictate high prices for medications, imaging, lab tests and other services.
We are joining a growing movement across the nation of providers and medical practices who want to be part of the solution to these problems. Lafayette Family Wellness will be going Direct Primary Care (DPC) as of July 1st, 2024 and will no longer bill any insurance company after this date. We have made this difficult decision so that we can work directly for you.
Our affordable DPC tiers are listed below. For a low monthly fee (similar to a gym membership), you will receive all the services you have come to expect at our clinic including urgent and chronic care, basic procedures, same or next day appointments, reduced wait times and extended visits of 30-60 minutes.
We also offer labs and other services at discounted rates and work with local facilities to offer the best rates available. Additional savings include no office copays, fewer urgent care and specialist copays, better costs on medications and less missed work due to delayed care, prolonged wait times or having to see a healthcare provider for simple problems that could be managed over the phone.
Some are also saving on their insurance premiums by changing to a higher deductible plan. These savings add up to hundreds of dollars per year. We have a FAQ with this letter and also invite you to visit our website or call for more information.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support as we embark on this new chapter. Our commitment to your health and well-being remains unwavering, and we are confident that this transition will ultimately result in a more positive experience for you, our valued patients.
Thank you for entrusting us with your healthcare needs. We look forward to continuing to serve you with excellence in care.
Warm regards,
Lafayette Family Wellness
We aspire to meet our patients wherever they may be, understanding that illness or medication queries don't always coincide with office visits.
We've observed how the rising costs of healthcare can strain the provider-patient relationship. Embracing the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model enables us to expand accessibility, intervening promptly to address concerns as they arise.
Patient education is vital for promoting informed decision-making, empowering individuals to actively participate in their own care. It fosters a deeper understanding of medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, leading to better health outcomes. By equipping patients with knowledge, healthcare providers enable them to make lifestyle changes, adhere to treatment plans, and advocate for their well-being
The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model significantly increases the amount of time providers can dedicate to each patient encounter. By eliminating the administrative burdens associated with insurance billing and paperwork, DPC allows providers to focus solely on patient care. This streamlined approach fosters deeper doctor-patient relationships, enhances communication, and enables providers to address patients' concerns in full.
The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model offers superior care to patients by prioritizing accessibility, fostering stronger provider-patient relationships, and emphasizing preventive healthcare. With DPC, patients have unhindered access to their healthcare provider, resulting in timely interventions and personalized treatment plans. By removing the barriers imposed by traditional insurance systems, DPC empowers providers to focus on patient needs, leading to more comprehensive, patient-centered care.
