Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative healthcare model becoming more popular by patients, healthcare providers, employers and policy makers across the nation. DPC offers a unique, affordable membership based approach that enables patients and families to establish ongoing relationship with their healthcare providers. Patients visit their “primary care home” for all routine and preventative services including check-ups, urgent care visits and chronic care management. Most importantly, patients receive access to unhurried primary care which is essential to patient’s wellbeing and ongoing health maintenance.
· The average appointment wait time is 26 days
· The average wait time in a clinic is 18 minutes
· The average appointment length is 7-12 minutes
· Labs and radiology at discounted prices
· Meds dispensed in clinic at wholesale prices
· Unhurried appointments
· Same day or next day appointments
· Monthly billing and no long term commitments
· No scheduling fees or co-pays
Membership offers same day appointments, improved communication, better access to your provider. Without insurance carriers dictating how we care for our patient’s, we are able to spend more time with you which ultimately allows us to provide better care while also being more affordable to you.
Studies show that membership results in better care, cost saving, reduced ER visits, reduced hospital admissions, and fewer referrals. One urgent care visit usually costs around $150-$250 to address a need that we can often address in the office. One ER visit, even with insurance, can cost more than one entire year’s membership with our office.
The membership fee can be paid monthly or annually. You can set up your membership by calling our office staff.
The office will not accept insurance to pay for the cost of the visit or membership. Your insurance can be used to cover outside labs, imaging or medications or specialists.
We recommend that you carry health insurance for unplanned incidents such as a hospitalization or surgery. Typically, a high deductible plan with a low monthly premium helps families save money.
Why pay twice? Right now, you likely already pay twice. One pays their insurance premium and any further fees until you meet the deductible. As a DPC member, rather than pay higher insurance based rates towards a deductible you may never meet, you pay a flat rate for all your primary care services. There are no co-pays, hidden fees or extra charges. Your membership covers basic annual labs, in house testing and procedures as well as comprehensive consultation and follow up care.
Many families utilize their HSA or FSA to pay for the monthly membership fee as a “qualified medical expense”. When using an HSA or FSA, pay annually or semi- annually is often recommended by legal experts. We can provide invoices if requested by your employer.
There is a 3 month minimum on all monthly plans.
While there are some similarities, DPC is different than concierge services. Concierge services often bill insurance in addition to a monthly fee which means they are still involved in the insurance industry’s complex reimbursement, so more staff is required to handle that process. This is reflected in the monthly fee as average concierge medicine is $200-$300 monthly. By comparison, DPC average is $50-$150
We understand that your needs may change and want to help you through whatever transitions you are making. If you need to cancel, we do require a written notice. Termination shall be effective on the last day of the then-current calendar month.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care Healthcare explained.
-Paul Thomas, MD
We aspire to meet our patients wherever they may be, understanding that illness or medication queries don't always coincide with office visits.
We've observed how the rising costs of healthcare can strain the provider-patient relationship. Embracing the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model enables us to expand accessibility, intervening promptly to address concerns as they arise.
Patient education is vital for promoting informed decision-making, empowering individuals to actively participate in their own care. It fosters a deeper understanding of medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, leading to better health outcomes. By equipping patients with knowledge, healthcare providers enable them to make lifestyle changes, adhere to treatment plans, and advocate for their well-being
The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model significantly increases the amount of time providers can dedicate to each patient encounter. By eliminating the administrative burdens associated with insurance billing and paperwork, DPC allows providers to focus solely on patient care. This streamlined approach fosters deeper doctor-patient relationships, enhances communication, and enables providers to address patients' concerns in full.
The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model offers superior care to patients by prioritizing accessibility, fostering stronger provider-patient relationships, and emphasizing preventive healthcare. With DPC, patients have unhindered access to their healthcare provider, resulting in timely interventions and personalized treatment plans. By removing the barriers imposed by traditional insurance systems, DPC empowers providers to focus on patient needs, leading to more comprehensive, patient-centered care.
